On Comic Relief Day, our Birmingham Scuba + Outdoor Pursuits Centre manager "Dave" made an hour long dive into the Shark Tank at the Birmingham Sea Life Centre. His new buddies on this special dive included the resident Black Tip Reef; Nurse; Leopard and Carpet Sharks. So with these guys around we really thought we’d be rid of him for good (well at least bits of him !) – Only Joking !

The stunt was organised of course to raise funds for the Comic Relief appeal, through both straight sponsorship and our very own "Wet Nose Day". Firstly Dave was of course sponsored for his brave efforts, and secondly The Scuba + Outdoor Pursuits Centres own version of Red Nose Day – "Wet Nose Day" was launched.

With "Wet Nose Day" we allowed all new divers to combine their first dip into the underwater world, with doing their own little bit to help out the Comic Relief appeal. The Scuba + Outdoor Pursuits Centre donated £10 to the Comic Relief appeal for every PADI Open Water Diver programme that booked over the Wet Nose Day weekend.

The whole event was heard live on Radio WM, across Birmingham and the Midlands, allowing even more new divers and sponsors to get involved. Oh, and just in case you’re wondering, yes he did make it out in one piece !
